WAD member Roger Bescoby is Director of Compliance and Development at Conflict International. His passion towards ethical operations during an exemplary lifetime career in private investigation have led him to continually study the often challenging ‘privacy laws’ that impact upon our industry. Having started and run his own covert surveillance operation for almost 2 decades, he cites his respectful attitude towards personal privacy as a key factor in his business success.
Roger has previously held the honorary position of Compliance Officer for the Association of British Investigators and as such is one of only a handful of investigative professionals who have been welcomed into the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK privacy Regulator, for personal briefings and updates.
His crucial dialogue with the ICO continued from the moment GDPR first loomed in the corridors of Brussels and then became a reality. As such, he is able to relay first hand opinion, comment and advice from the body empowered to enforce GDPR in the UK.
Roger has regularly appeared on national TV and radio in the UK as an industry spokesman. In his private life he quotes his family, dogs, love of sailing, wine and fortunate good health as the things most important to him.
